Well folks, the results are in. Although I have been pretty quiet this election season, true to form I have an opinion on just about everything

I still can't believe the Democratic Tsunami, esp. since Paul Hodes isn't a super-respected attorney in these parts. Actually, pretty much everyone I know thinks he's a tool and, even though I didn't agree with Charlie Bass on everything, at least he ran on more than "George Bush makes babies cry."
Now Carol Shea-Porter, she's a class act. She won through hard grassroots work and good ideas. I'd love to be in her district.
My only concern about Pelosi and the rest of the new democrats is that they all say that we're moving in a new direction, but I have no sense of what that direction is, other than away from Bush. And that could be in 360 different directions of Pelosi doesn't come up with something comprehensive pronto.
Meanwhile, the state house is in a tizzy. Democrats haven't controlled both the executive branch and the legislative branch since the 1890s. It's more exciting than usual to be in New Hampshire. Well, minus the crap-tastic weather.
Oh, one of the few races I was concerned with was the Santorum one. It's really encouraging to me to see such a high profile race involve a pro life Catholic Dem; Casey is my man and I wish there were more like him in the Democratic Party.
How do you feel about pro life politicians in the DNC?
I have to dwell upon these happenings up north as, of course, nothing happened in Texas.
How do I feel about pro-life politicians in the DNC...hmmm. Good question.
I think they have a tough row to hoe. I think they really need to inject the "let's reduce abortion by reducing poverty &c." element into the debate, and I feel like they are getting there. I would love to see abortion become less of a party line issue, but that might be wishful thinking.

I'm lovin' it that even an African-American politician in Mass. manages to have Patrick in his name.
