OK. Following the wisdom of Ms. Eme Kah, I am going to cut back on whining and complaining. I can air my problem/issue and seek advice/support but then I have to take action/not take action and drop it. I think that whining and complaining may allow me to become stuck in one place - not moving forward. I risk missing the good things that are ( Read more... )

But seriously, there are people on this planet with a lot less than I have. It doesn't mean that I can't aspire to have more/be more. I just don't want to be one of those people who becomes embittered because life didn't hand me a lucky hand every time.

6n, in all fairness, I was talking about complaining about stupid stuff whereas you've been having some tough months there. Some really tough months. So I can't blame you for complaining. You can try and see if it will help NOT to complain but don't be down on yourself. The best way to stop complaining is to acknowledge the pain or what ails you, sit with it, and then move on. It's a little different than dwelling on something. I don't know if I'm being clear. Let me know if I'm not but if you've ever done meditation, you might know what I mean. Also, it helps if you have something to distract yourself with, like if you set yourself a goal.

Yes, I am finding that goal setting is important. At first, I was really tied to a timeline. Now, I realize that as long as I take steps towards the goal, the timeline isn't as important ( ... )

the hard part is moving forward. There's a fine line between "repressing" your complaining, and just having it explode a week later worse than ever, and finding a way to acknowledge what's making you unhappy, accepting it, and carrying on with it.I'm going to tape this to my computer and think about it ( ... )
