I'm spammy tonight, but I keep seeing the posts about the opening ceremony, and it's all very well for everyone going on about how amazing it was, but you know what i kept hearing in the pub on friday lunchtime when we were watching it..

"how the fuck are we going to top this??"

Yeah, that's a very good question. And I did read a comment somewhere LJ-ish (can't remember where) saying that London and Vancouver must be having fits right now trying to figure out what the hell they're going to do. :-\

(That said, I don't think either place has quite as much to try to prove/propagandize, so in that respect, I think the world would understand if y'all just wanted to be yourselves...)

Yeah, sorry. Several times last night I thought, "Oh, man, poor Brits"

The Boy and I did discuss that the organizers in Vancouver and London must be ready to cry knowing they at least have to match it!

The thought had crossed my mind, except I forgot about London and I was like, "I can't imagine Vancouver can top this." (Except this guy I work with is from the Vancouver area and he informs us that they're shipping out the homeless, so, um... no homeless?) 0-o
