Materials needed:
1 piece of paper, I used printer paper.
3 Notecards (Index cards) to get the right size.
1 Pen
1 pair of scissors
1 roll of scotch tape.
RulesI'm sorry for spamming your FList, but it's not like you had something cool right? XD
Please forgive me if this post seems a little rushed or poorly done. My word document was acting strange.
Step 1: Obtain the paper you are going to use to make the heart. It must be easy to fold. I suggest printer paper, it’s what I’ve been using and I know you can get the right size with it.
Note: The size of the paper being used for the heart is one note card long wise, and then one note card width wise. See pictures for references.
You will be using the full height of the paper. :)
The note cards are basically a guide to get the proper size. This is the size that will fit easily into envelopes.
Step 2: Cut the extra paper. Now you should have a big square.
Step 3: Fold it in half vertically. (I believe it was called “Hot dog style” when I was in elementary?) Make sure it’s even and well folded.
Step 4: Open up the paper and fold both sides in to the center. (Hot dog style again.)
Step 5: As it is, fold it in half the other way. (I believe this one was called “Hamburger style” in elementary…)
Step 6: Open it up again. This is the tricky part. Take the right side and fold it up.
It’s like an up diagonal it will start a point at the bottom. Repeat this for the left side. Your bottoms may overlap each other a bit.
Step 7: Fold the top flaps down. They may overlap a little bit. Nothing wrong with that but folding the later steps will just require a little more time. It happens to me a lot…
Step 8: Bring the flaps you folded over and put them on the inside. You may/will be might with some resistance on the ends, fold those in just a TINY little bit. To get the flaps inside. After this is you may tape (yes TAPE) the bottom on the front so that it doesn’t open anymore.
Step 9: Take the two corners and fold them over to the back.
Tape them down as well.
Step 10: Now you see the where the two sides come together. Take the right side and fold it in. (If you have a side that overlaps it may be easier to do it first.) and then do the same to the left.
You should have the basic heart now. :) But almost done.
Step 11: Open the heart and take a piece of tape and tape down the two flaps you just folded in (If you get any in that open area, just cut it out.) . After that you may finish taping the front that has the open still there. Also I suggest cutting the back where the heart comes in at a point, it looks better in my opinion. And if you want you can also tape down the folded over flaps from earlier. If you really want to as well you can tape on the inside where the two sheets of paper meet. You should be done now.
If you need help or more pictures please comment so. I’ll add in all I can. If you just can’t get a heart to work or don’t have time, please Message me and I’ll make one for you. :)
