Teething Heck Day II

How much longer would a reasonable person pump milk that their baby is not drinking? It's been two weeks now -- but she is also in the throes of teething hell. Tim thinks I should just keep going going until her first birthday and then quit. Even though most of the milk is being dumped down the drain - but only after offering it to her three times ( Read more... )

yes it is like baby gatorade. I bought it when Leta was born and Mina was 1.5 throwing up... I think we used a few tablespoons of it, until she stopped throwing up, and then never touched the stuff again.

You have described how my Emma teethes. It's just awful. The shrieks and screams, drool, runny nose, poopy diapers. It makes you really want to smack people who say they never knew their kids were teething - that the teeth would just pop through unnoticed for weeks. *hugs*

Vaughn teethed the same way! Oh god, it's so horrible. And it's just like a storm blowing over...one day you swear their world is ending and the next it's like nothing ever happened.

((Hugs)) I am so sorry, Momma.

i guess it's the same concept as gatorade, but is geared and designed more toward fluid replacement when a bebe has the diah and/or the pukes. we usually have about 5 bottles on hand at all times -- when seija gets stomach problems, we 86 all dairy and start up on the pedialyte; she had a bad bug last year that lasted forever it seemed, and we were worried about deyhdration.

some moms swear by it, others think it's bunk, but i know from personal experience for my girl that it has its place in a routine when there's pukin' and poopin' going on.

i'm so so so sorry you're going through bad teething issue. :( it's a rough frustrating cranky argh time, i know. have you tried putting frozen grapes in one of the mesh food holders? that way she can gnaw on something cold that tastes great/familiar while soothing her gums. that's the ONLY gnawing thing seija would use when her molars were coming in --it was a gawdsend.

sending you guys lotsa good juju. *hugs*

I don't have any baby Gatorade stories to share, but I was wondering if you have tried just water. I'm sure you have, but I can't remember if you've said it, or not. Henry really likes water in a sippy. Mostly to spill on himself, but there is a drink now and then. And he seems to like organic whole cow's milk, too. I'm not producing enough to pump a lot now, so when I'm not here, it's all about moo milk at mealtime. Anyway, I hope the teething passes soon. I know how bad it can be. H. has been teething for a couple of days (I have no idea where they are coming in, but he's been sooo drooly and woke up all night), but it's not as bad this time as the upper fronts were. Those are the worst so far. I guess molars are even worse, but we have yet to see.
