Are you a newborn person?

Talk to me folks. Not many of you post as much as you used too. Today I am thinking about writing a post regarding Are You a Newborn Person" based on this these two posts --- and the subsequent comments (the best part). Several comments include the adoption experience.

It depends. Ask me when my PPD is under control. :(

I really liked Ellie as a newborn, but I didn't mourn her getting older either. She is way more interesting each day, as she grows.

I'm having some trouble even associating that Jack is actually mine, still. C-section side effect, maybe? I mean, I know he's my son, but for some reason, I have a hard time believing it.

LIke I said, I'll read the articles and post more later, I see a doctor tomorrow, so don't fret.

Didn't read the articles yet, but I am NOT a newborn person.

I'm excited that Ollie will be here soon, but I am so DREADING the first 3 months.

I was suprised my entire family survived Landon's first 6 weeks. Things have gotten easier since then, and I have (so far) enjoyed each "new" age/stage as we have gotten to it more than the one before (ie, I like 6 months better than newborn. I loved 2 more than 1.)

I am not sure if I am a newborn person or not. I loved sitting and holding Alex all day long as he napped. I loved smelling him and singing to him and dressing him in cute little sleepers. And although I love seeing hims grow and learn I miss him being a little baby.

But the lack of sleep, loss of stamina and forgetting to eat made those first few months a nightmare too.

I didnt read the articles...

I'm not sure if I'm a new born person or not. I don't think its something I can work out in the state I'm in right now but then I don't think its easy to judge looking back at that time either.

I know with Addy it took a while for us to bond. I wasn't "OMG so in love" like I expected to be but I just put that down to the fact that I didn't know her and needed time to find out who she was.

I was also trying to work out my new role in life in those early months so I think it was just a bit of a confusing time all round.

I do know I would say, 'Dont ever grow up, I want you to stay this way for ever' to her a lot because I did enjoy certain things about the new born stage and realised it would be over all too soon, but then I also have enjoyed the stages since then too.

So I guess I'm saying that question for me is too hard to answer. lol

No. I'm barely even a baby person. I know it sounds bad, but I'm so excited for Kyu to get a little older so our life can open up; I'm also not exactly sad about not being there for his first few months. (Of course, I would have liked to be there FOR him and to bond with him, but I just prefer older babies.)
