sounds like the harddrive, but it sounds like it just has some bad sectors so you can still recover data from it if you dont abuse it. if you dont have a secondary already, go get another one and load windows on it. make your old primary your slave and boot to the new drive, once everything loads up you should be able to transfer some of your data from the old drive to the new one, but how much is anyone's guess. dont cut the blue wire or we'll all die. be careful or you'll end up like this: http://www.maxcarter.com/MarryMeMolly/photos/Honeymoon/images/SeaPark%20-%20Max%20Eaten%20By%20Shark.jpg
luckily i had just reformatted a couple days ago, so there wasn't really anything on it. i tried loading windows on one of my other drives, but it says i'll have to format it... and i don't want to lose everything on it. so i was just gonna get another IDE drive, but now i'm looking into SATA, and a whole new computer. it's exciting.
