There are occasionally times when a performance causes a fellow to simply stare in shock and awe at the sheer spectacle of utter incompetence he has been blessed (cursed? blessed.) to witness. In my brief experience running the pub, I can thankfully say that there has been no more than three such travesties. Tonight was alas the fourth ( Read more... )

This is the reason why I'm glad I don't have to deal with finding bands to play at my work. Who recommended those idiots, anyway?

I don't even remember. I think one of them might have just called me and implied I'd already agreed.

Oh I hate when bands do that. They used to try that at the Dog. Well, until they realised that I'm not in charge of anything like that.

More's the pity. Have you been cheating on me with another pub?

It's not as though I don't give you discounts or something mad like that.

I'm so glad I never come to the Banshee anymore.

Except for that whole never seeing you anymore bit.

He needs to slum come to the Dog.

Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest for him?

Although since he is the landlord I suppose he can make his own nights off, unlike us.

I'm more or less married to the Banshee at this point. It's an unpleasant kind of marriage, too, as I'm stuck here every night babysitting the little bugger.

Loud isn't always bad. Though a capella reminds me of barbershop quartets which reminds me of being forced to get my hair cut.

WIZARG is a pretty crap name for a band.

WIZARG? I'm glad I stayed in tonight.

Very. There's no band tomorrow for whom I have to prepare, at least. Small mercies.

At least you'll have time to clean up then. Broken glass is very atmospheric and all, but I think the White Dog has the market cornered on notoriety.

Perhaps someday the Banshee shall be renowned for floor surfaces that don't crunch when you walk on them.

While I'm not sorry about having missed WIZARG (they are just asking for it) I'll be stopping by the pub with the twins this week. Can you handle the three of us? We won't break windows, but that's all I can promise, mate.

I'll let you drink for free if you promise not to let them bring me any more free samples from the shop.

I'll see what I can do.

Scratch that. If you can get them to come empty-handed I'll give you a medal.
