tru dat. anyone who's ever been to manhattan knows that you have exactly 300 square feet spread out over two sprawling rooms.

"No dishwasher" = Arg
"Not enough counterspace for one of those countertop dishwashers you can hook up to your sink" = "Sucking huge anus"

But you'll be on the East Coast while I'll be here in Bloomington so of course I'm jealous.

It looks clean and you have hardwood floors. Kudos.

Having lived here for 6 months and having seen many apartments, I can tell you that 1) NO apartments in NYC have dishwashers, 2) NO apartments in NYC have enough counterspace (he's lucky he has drawers. I have zed.), and 3) ALL apartments in NYC have hardwood floors. Carpet in NYC=heinous.

Just going by my sisters' apartments:
-My sister Em's had carpeting
-One of my sister Cheryl's apartments had carpeting originally but she had it torn out when she bought the apartment (there were nice hardwood floors underneath)
-All the apartments that I can remember them having had dishwashers (although Cheryl had one put in the one she remodeled)

I actually first heard about the countertop dishwashers when I was working in the city a couple summers ago - one of my co-workers was moving into a new place and was getting one. Apparantly they were popular at that time since you didn't have to go through the hassle of floorspace and hookups.

I don't know how Em kept her floors so clean... she definitely was no June Cleaver

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to add that I was just talking about ghetto New York apartments. My bad! :P

Cutesy. So how much are you paying a month? You know how much I pay, so for security reasons why don't you just tell me in terms of that (ie, 'I pay $xxx more than you).
