I have assembled a small pile of books to read over the holidays and while travelling. I meant to bring Blue Like Jazz home and include it in the stack, but seem to have forgotten it. Blast.

What is it about late-night papering that makes lj so alluring? I suppose it's the utter lack of communication from any other source. I'm down to one other roommate, and she is, quite logically, fast asleep. I daren't sign online, lest there be someone chatty around, and even the TD board is dead. So I'm writing this paper. Theoretically.
It's only five pages, and not actually due for twelve hours, but the tricky thing is that I have class in less than six hours, and then another class, and then I'm supposed to go to Robin's and clean, which will take hours, and then Jen/Sandy/Nat are having some sort of Christmas party, so this not- ( Read more... ) -

My friends are pretty much amazing, I must say. Last night I walked into a massive surprise party. I was completely oblivious and thoroughly shocked. I'm not sure where exactly the idea originated, but apparently there was a solid cadre involved in the planning, and truly all of my good friends from all of the different places my Georgetown life ( Read more... ) -

I must say: facebook gained my respect back, and then some, with their handling of this situation.
I've deleted the entirely of my news feed and ratcheted up all my privacy settings, and now that I feel slightly more comfortable, I'm actually able to admit that there are some aspects of the news feed which are rather fun.
