We had Daisy's birthday at my grandma's house. While there, the news was on. They were talking about the war, of course. My dad started talking about how, in his opinion, we should take ALL the Muslims in the US and "put them in work camps" and then "bomb the hell out of everybody over there, level them and start over"

ahhhyup.

You have to understand... my father isn't very... worldly. Hasn't traveled outside the Americas. Grew up Christian with a racist father in a predominantly white logger town. He's a hard working family man, who worked 70+ hours a week to provide for us. He's an amazing, wonderful man, but his views of the world are obviously a bit skewed and I generally attribute that to his upbringing.

I don't understand how I became who I am, growing up where I did, with the expressed views surrounding me. It upsets me that the people I love the most in my life can't share a more... liberal opinion and knowledge.
