I realize that this is a post to 'vent' and I am not going to say anything against that because this is your journal. I would however gently caution you against lumping anyone in a category (i.e. conservative republican christian nazis). Everyone deserves a chance to be known as an individual and nobody likes to be labeled amongst a category made in a hasty generalization. =)

that is a load of shit megan. who are they to be the judge and jury. it is my understanding that when you go to the pearly gates it is "god" who has the final word. I think if "god" was down on earth she would vote democrat. that is just TOTAL BULL SHIT!!!!! This makes me hate the church even more. true everybody deserves to be known as an indevidual but they aslo deserve the right to vote for who they damn well please!! this has totally fucked up my day!

Personally, I'm not the least bit surprised that the Catholic Church is doing this. I mean, what can you expect from a church that tried to eliminate girls from altar-service? A church that decided it needed more money, so it struck a deal with an Italian family-owned fish company and stated that "it is a sin to eat meat on fridays". The fish market has not been lacking since then. The original reason for us to go to church every sunday was to raise money for the church and its building funds. Is eternal salvation based somewhere in money? If it is, then would someone please pull the wool from over my eyes so I may see my saving grace. The church claims that they are 'giving to the poor', but all I see is new church offices and buildings being modified and constructed. Since the churches can start getting much fancier, then I expect that all poverty has surely dissipated. Much to my dismay, I am being forced into Conformation. Being told that I will not be able to graduate from a Catholic school if I do not get confirmed ( ... )
