The game centers around time travel and undoing bad things that have happened, so I have no doubt that if there is a "good ending" scenario/DLC/sequel it will involve going back in time and undoing everybody's deaths, blah blah blah. It's just too bad that it's not included with the actual freakin' game.
Why did it have to be time travel? Why do they think that's ever a good idea unless the original story focused on time travel?
Good time travel : Shadows of Destiny Bad Time Travel : Something that didn't have time travel originally in it.
Like, it just seems like such a heavy and ridiculous plot element that has nothing to do with the Cuccoon stuff or- am I just going crazy? This doesn't make any sense...
I didn't give a shit about FF13 after playing about 6 hours of it, and wow, now I give even less than a shit about it. I miss the FF's on the SNES, I felt like they all went way downhill after FF6. FF7 was okay, but it didn't feel like a Final Fantasy to me.
Wow, that actually sounds worse than the ending to the 2008 Prince of Persia game. Are there any redeeming qualities at all? Is the story actually told within the game, or do you still need to read all the encyclopedia bullshit? (Which I won't ever do because my TV is small enough that tiny-text is painful to read on it.)
There's redeeming qualities. The gameplay is decently solid, and unlike 13 it's not 30 hours of one-way road, you actually have options and an open world to explore and all that junk. Capturing monsters and levelling them up is done decently well, much better than Ratatosk did it. So from a pure gameplay standpoint, it's pretty entertaining. Too bad the story had to come along and ruin it.
And yeah, it's a Toriyama story, so half of it is buried in the encyclopedia, and there's a lot of plot holes anyway.

why would you kill the only good thing about the series
why would you kill lightning
would you kill cloud, s-e?
This ending is shitty and this game is shitty the end.

Ah ha, see, there is your fatal error. You expected a Toriyama story to make sense.
