China, A Week Before:

"Wookie, are you excited to go back to Korea?!? I know I am. I miss Bada, and Teukie-umma, and--"

"Kibummie?" Ryeowook added with a teasing smile.

Donghae smiled wider, a faint blush appearing on his cheeks. Ryeowook sighed and fell back on his bed dramatically.

"Uh, at least you have someone special. Not to mention under the noses of all those media reporters, and those crazy fan girls."

"You could have someone too, you know."

Ryeowook lifted his head to look at Donghae disbelievingly.

"Yeah right, as if I would want a girlfriend with these conditions. I mean, don't your remember what a scandal was caused when they say Hankyung and some girl? And it wasn't even Hankyung in the picture! No thank you."

"Who said anything about a girlfriend? Please Wook-ah, I see the way you look at our Coffee Prince, don't try do deny it."

At the mention of Yesung, Ryeowook sat strait up, his eyes open in horror. He then rearranged himself in what he hoped was uncaring, but couldn't quite get all the panic to leave his eyes nor the stutter to leave his speech.

"W-what are you talking about Hae?"

Donghae grinned like a cheshire cat. The eternal magnae had taken the bait, now the only thing to do was reel him in and smack some sense into him.

"Oh, you know. It seems like you guys are attached at the hip sometimes. Not to mention you're the only one that can invade the force field that seems to surround him when he's with his turtle. Then there were those time that the two of you disappeared from the dorm and 'accidentally' forgot your phones."

Ryeowook's face turned slightly redder with every point Donghae had made. His voice seemed even more nervous when he spoke again.

"Y-yeah, Y-yesungie is one of my b-best friends and he's a g-good h-hyung."

"Then why were you so mad when he let that lady lay on your bed on that MBC show? I mean, all four of them touched all our things, yet you got so mad at Yesung for letting her onto your bed. Then, and I quote, 'he let that lady's disgusting greasy hair touch the hairband that I gave him! How dare he!?!' Personally I think you were just jealous."

"I-i honestly don't know what you're t-talking about."

Ryeowook stood and made to leave the room when Donghae's next words stopped him dead.

"He likes you too, you know. He's good at being aloof at times, but I got it out of him when I got him drunk."

Ryeowook looked at him with wide eyes as Donghae laid back on his bed with his arms folded behind his head.

Gotcha.

"R-really?" Ryeowook inched closer to his hyung.

"Mhm. And you know everyone would be understanding towards your relationship. I mean, you see how they are with me and Kibummie, they wouldn't hate you or anything. If anything, they'll blame Yesung for anything."

Ryeowook not sat on the edge of his bed hanging eagerly onto every word spilling from his mouth.

"I mean, our dear Kim Jongwoon is a nice fellow. He will be good for you, I'm sure. Not to mention how much he already adores you and he knows that if he does anything to our Eternal Magnae then he'll have eleven guys dismembering him by the end of the hour. I think he can truly make you happy, Wookie. Lord knows you deserve it."

Ryeowook smiled wider than he had in a while. His body felt light, truly floating on cloud nine. Maybe he would get a chance to confess in this lifetime after all. Only one more week til they got home.

---

He couldn't believe it. They had been so happy when they heard that they were allowed to return two days early. They were giddy the whole plane ride, Donghae happy that he would be reunited with Kibum sooner. Ryeowook had sat restlessly the entire flight, fingers gripping tightly the present that was meant for Yesung in his bag. He was going to do it tonight, before they went to sleep.

Now this. Yesung was sitting on Kibum's bed looking at them with shock. Kibum was still clutching at his head, but he didn't particularly care for that. His fingers only clutched tighter around the present as Yesung kept his gaze on him. He felt the tears start to form in the back of his eyes. He heard words being spoken, Donghae screaming, Kibum frantically trying to explain, but the words didn't make sense. It was all a jumbled mess in his head as he trembled trying to contain his cries as Yesung still looked only at him.

Donghae turned and clutched at Ryeowook's free arm, swinging him around and pulling him further down the hallway. He looked down as Donghae was practically sprinting down the hallway, mind only half registering Little Sweet Potato pulling into his shell as he almost got trampled by the four frantic feet.

They reached the room at the end of the hallway and Ryeowook was quickly pushed in. The door was locked behind them and Ryeowook heard the frantic footsteps running towards them, then the pounding on the door. It seemed his senses finally returned to him, his ears picking up on frantic breathing on the verge of hyperventilation, only to realize that it was his own.

Donghae was looking lost, a look that hadn't been present since the funeral of his father. He then turned his betrayed eyes on Ryeowook and they turned fearful. He ran to the younger boy and clutched at his shoulders.

"Wookie! Calm down, you're gonna pass out! Just breath slowly. In. Out. In. Out. That's it, just take slow deep breaths."

A drop of water hit his hand, still clutched to the present, and he realized that he had been silently crying. He let go of the present, hearing it land within his bag once more. He buried his face in his hands, feeling Donghae's hands quietly consoling him, the pounding on the door still not letting up.

"He's not worth it Wookie. Forget everything I said last week. He's a backstabber, a boyfriend stealer, absolute filth, the scum of the Earth, and he doesn't deserve you."

Ryeowook looked up from his hands, the tears still rolling down his cheeks. It finally clicked that they were in his room. The room he shared with Yesung. He suddenly felt suffocated, like there wasn't enough air in the room.

"I need to get out of here."

"We can't Wookie, they're outside the door. Okay, I'll tackle them down and you run. I'll hold them back as long as I can."

Ryeowook shook his head and turned towards the window.

"No need. Yesung taught me how to leave without using the front door. I'll be back a little later okay?"

Ryeowook merely smiled at a distraught looking Donghae before leaving through the window, leaving the small dark room and the banging door behind.

---

Kibum and Yesung ran out of the room after the other two as the situation finally dawned on them. Yesung had seen in horror as they almost trampled over his beloved turtle before barricading themselves in his room. He had seen the tears, the looks of betrayal on both faces. The shit hit the fan this time.

They had been banging on the door for a good five minutes when he heard the familiar jingle of the window opening. He knew what was going on. He quickly tapped Kibum's shoulder, stopping the younger from banging on the door. Me put his finger to his lips, signaling them to be quiet.

"I need to go take care of something. Teukie keeps a spare of all the locks in the kitchen, in the spice rack." He whispered to Kibum, picking up Little Sweet Potato as he started climbing up his bare foot.

"Okay, but where are you going?"

Yesung smiled a little as he stroked the turtle's shell.

"After Wookie."

With that he turned and walked back down the hallway and out the front door.
