The trailer for Burlesque has premiered to quite a few snickers, with the presence of Cher causing people to take it even less seriously. This is actually pretty funny, since, back in the old days, Cher was something of a true, bona-fide Hollywood fixture. So Edward Norton is officially not going to be playing Banner in the new Avengers movie. (I'll tell you what though. It was a huge, huge PR blunder, all due considering. The opening for Inception was healthy indeed. This has a lot of people pumping it up, for two reasons. Number one, because as a non-franchise film with potential for legs, it is an excellent opening. So I was reading some back issues about Captain Britain fighting Dracula. In the story, it explored the idea of Dracula's racism against Muslims, and as something a voice of British Xenophobia. So Jeph Loeb, the very infamous writer, who gave us incest and cannibalism in The Ultimates, and steered the ship of Heroes from overrated to universally hated, is now the VP of Marvel television. So Jonah Hex was released this weekend, although it seems to live up to the maxim of movies not being released, but escaping. Being DOA is pretty much bad news, as Westerns have such a hard time of getting greenlit these days.
