Two Car Accidents in Two Days

Aug 22, 2012 11:59

Yup. That's been my week so far. The first accident happened on Monday evening after work. Magus and I decided to detour from our regular route home to go pick up dinner. I stopped behind a lone line of cars waiting at a red light. The car behind me (a yellow Chevy) also stopped. The car behind them (a silver Lexus) stopped as well. However, the ( Read more... )

For those of you keeping track at home, this is the second time this car was rear-ended while at a standstill in traffic, and the fifth time a car of mine was rear-ended, while at a standstill, to such a degree that repairs were needed. We shall not discuss the numbers of times I've been given lovetaps while driving, as those are just a part of life in heavy traffic areas

"nods"

I remember several of those. Yikes, you've got a bad case of car karma. Good thing you weren't badly hurt so far, sending along good vibes that nothing else happens.

This accident record has officially crossed over into absurd. Especially when I think about the fact that until 2008 (when my Lancer was totaled by the schoolbus) I hadn't had any accidents in 8 years. It's like that one event has set off a chain reaction over the last four years. It's hard to fathom.

And thank you! I hope nothing else happens as well! *fingers crossed*

Ouch!! I'm so glad you are OK! I hate when you get hit from behind - good for you to be far enough away from the car in front. I wonder if all the cars had left enough space whether there would have been so much damage....?

Thanks, me as well!

And I wonder that too. I have to assume that if BOTH the cars behind me had enough distance at the very least I wouldn't have been hit, but who knows. I would assume it depends a lot on how fast the Honda was moving at the moment of impact, and how good the brakes/tires were on the other two cars. *shrugs*

Oh my! I'm so glad you're alright. (Though with the headache, maybe you should get a check-up, better safe than sorry.)

::Hugs::

Hope everything goes in your favor, insurance-wise.

I'm thinking I'm okay, as so far no headache today. But if anything changes, I'l l definitely get checked out!

And thank you, so do I.

Oh god, that is awful! I'm so glad that you weren't hurt, but that is a real bummer! I hope they find it in your favour - I don't think pulling up in a no-no area means "anything that subsequently happens is your fault"... I hope not anyway. :(

Good luck, my thoughts are with you!!

I hope so too! I can deal with having to pay my deductible for the repairs, but I would rather avoid having to pay an increased premium every month!

And thanks, I appreciate it :-)
