I'm a huge fan of Chie Shinohara's "Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori," known to American fans as "Red River." I don't read a lot of manga, but this series totally kicks ass. We officially moved into the new lab space this week - it's a LOT nicer than our old crappy room, that's for sure! We're still trying to get everything organized, but it's looking more and more like a real lab every day. I caught some of the Live Earth concerts yesterday - I always love seeing who's willing to give their time to an event like this; they were able to assemble a killer lineup. Plus, it was pretty wild seeing Genesis perform at the London concert - they were my absolute favorite band through most of my youth and remain one of my favorites to this day ( Read more... )

My PhD research has come to a screeching halt, due to circumstances that I don't think are totally my fault. I'm working on it, and there's actually the exciting posibility that this error will take my project in a new and interesting direction, but until we confirm what happened, nothing moves forward.
