Energy Effecency
Apparently an orangutan in full braciating glory uses less energy than a couch potato on a movie marathon. Energy effecent metabolism...they can still put out a great deal of effort on a metabolism that is only beaten (for lowness) by the three toed sloth.

More BooBoos
We had people over for a sewing bee yesterday. Mostly we brainstormed ideas and looked at patterns. I think we are going to do a girl's group pirate theme, as well as at least one high Indian set.
But K toddled around so much that he couldn't go into work again today. I swear, if he doesn't stay off that foot, I'm going to shoot him. -
Gimping
K re-injured an old booboo for his ankle, and is gimping about on crutches. This means that he is driving ME at his pace. Rememeber, this is the work-aholic that did two full time jobs, one in another town, for 18 months, while participating in 3 clubs. He is all about go. Me? Not so much. Long Lost Amber
The boys got their rental house, and that is awesome. I've been helping Skyler put in a garden. Well, first I was helping them move and clean the old place, then I was helping them get ready for their housewarming party, then I was working on the garden.
My classes start again in 4 weeks and I'm not done playing my summer away! -
Houses
After much more looking, the second house on our list is still the best. The Chelsea house. The Hollywood house is gone, but that's fine. The boys have been talking to the landlord and it looks like they can work things out. Crossed!
I went house hunting with Skyler today. Their lease is up soon. We had a blast and found two really exciting places. Keep your fingers crossed that one or the other works out. Both would be closer to me, with easier access to work for most of the household, and lots more room. Both have yards that Arabella could play in, and room for the ( Read more... ) -

Skye's Complication
Skyler and Ash are home from the hospital. Apparently Skye has (and probably was born with) a condition called eurithra diverticulitus, and this only showed up in the delivery ( Read more... ) -
Here She IS
Arabella was born at 12:33 this afternoon, after a very short, fast labor. She is healthy, beautiful, and seems to have a bright eyed, optimistic personality. Skyler did amazingly well, but there are complications that mean he might be here in the hospital until Friday. Basically a huge, really, I mean HUGE, eurithral cyst broke during delivery ( Read more... )
