Can one not buy melatonin in Oz? If it's legal for me to ship it to you, I'd be happy to send a bottle. It's cheap and plentiful here...

In Oz and the EU, Melatonin is by script only. But I'm not planning to travel before April next year, so I'm not looking for any before then. Really only useful to me for longhaul economy flights.

It always surprises me that people rush to board planes as soon as the gate opens. I figure that I'll be on the plane for plenty long enough and my allocated seat will be waiting for me whether I'm first or last on board. My only guess is that they want to place oversize bags in the overhead compartments...
