J K Rowling has always had a a genius for names, but when I began reading this one and found it full of a multitude of perfectly ordinary modern English names - and by that I mean Indian included - I was beginning to despair of keeping everyone straight in my mind ( Read more... )

I am glad that you liked it as some of the 'critics' were less than kind. I think they just would like more Harry.

I am looking forward to my meeting with JK's first truly adult book.

BTW, my son was similar to yours and I am similarly grateful for the arrival of Harry and his friends for turning my son into a reader even if he eventually chose science fantasy as his preferred genre

We were on holiday, and Kerri would read to DS when she had time. But when she went off shopping with her mother, my son was left adrift, took the book and shut himself away in his room, sounding out the hard words to make his own progress. I was so proud of him!

Try to love one another for what they are, not hate them for what they are not.

Just like the books then :p

I hadn't even realised that she had a new one out, I knew it was coming, but clearly haven't been monitoring the situation closely enough!
