My favorite line in this post. I know one man who reads of these developments and they frustrate him. He knows he's going to die before they figure this stuff out and he feels like they're SO CLOSE to figuring it out and it makes him mad that he's going to miss out.

Many moons ago, there was a show on TV called Sports Night, I think. It wasn't a sports show, it was a sitcom/drama about a Sports Show. Anyway, Robert Guillame (sp?), the guy who played Benson was the boss and in one episode he kept reading about humans settling on Mars and all the projected dates and scientific achievements involved and he kept just randomly mentioning it to people. Finally, someone asked him why he gave a shit. And he said, "Because I won't be alive when it happens." Or something along those lines.

Hey! I've got Sport Night in my Netflix queue (since it's by Aaron Sorkin and has Peter Krause in it). I'll watch for that line :)
