if it makes you feel any better i had a similar experience while rhapsodizing about nalgene bottles and their indestructibility. to test my claims, my friend's little brother rammed into one with a car. needless to say that nalgene now has some issues.

mention the washing machine. my flash drive survived the washing machine after a quick rinse and a VERY LONG dry.
