This gorgeous red merle dog is scheduled to be put down on Thursday if we can't get his rescue sorted out.  Catahoula Rescue is willing to take him into their program, and I'm willing to foster him, but we're having logistical difficulties getting him out of the shelter.

Agh! I live in Bethany and could have easily helped with this but will be out of town on Friday. :-( I could help on Thursday?

Thursday might work; but I won't be up until noonish, and need to be at work by six...is there any chance you'd be willing to drive him partway to Tulsa? Like say...Stroud? There's a rest-top there w/gas, McDonalds, and grass for them to stretch their legs...I've done transport hand-offs there before. It's about 45 minutes east of OKC. I'll chip in for gas, if you need it.

That's what I did with that pit bull last summer- I met the rescue woman at that McDonald's. Sounds like a plan to me! :-)

Just let me know what I need to do to pick the dog up- if I need any paperwork or some secret code word or what? :-p I also drive a VW Beetle so will that be ok? (I mean, I don't think a crate will fit- the last dog just sat politely in the back seat on a towel.)

You're a doll. :-)

I have no idea how he'll travel; all I know if him is what's on the profile. I would guess that nobody's transported him since he arrived at the shelter.
So...you might go armed with a method to secure him in the back seat. In my car, I've had good success with securing my rowdy Lab's head to the seatbelt loop above the passenger's seat, with enough slack that he can lay down or look out the window but can't come over the seats into my lap while driving.
E-mail me at slarti24@gmail.com and I'll put you in touch with the coordinators, we can swap phone numbers, vehicle descriptions, etc.
