Mae is a rescued Catahoula Leopard Dog who has been admitted into a Prison Dogs program in Lexington, OK (just south of Norman). This is a program where the inmates host rescued dogs in their cells, give them basic obediance and socialization, and in the process learn about responsibility ( Read more... )

So, as you may or may not know, my sister and have both been working at a nice little day practice here in Tulsa. The staff are nice, management are very humane, and the quality of medicine is very good. I've been very happy with the job so far. Mae got adopted!  Now we just have to get her to her rescue home....



Mae was rescued with her sister from a kill shelter in TX.  Her owner knew she had been picked up running loose, but declined to come get her.  With the very kind help of the animal control officer and some wonderful volunteers, she made it to a foster home in OK where she was ( Read more... )

A couple of weeks ago I applied for and got a job working full time as a tech at the same place my sister does kennels.  I've been wanting to go back to day practice for some time....I love ER work for the experience and the variety, but after four years, I'm finding myself pretty jaded.  Deaths don't bother me any more, and I think that's wrong.  ( Read more... )
