Sometimes, life just sucks

So I spent last night in the emergency room -got a migraine that wouldn't break - after about 6 hours I gave up and had Lonnie take me in - but the ER is like a visit to hell itself. I have never been so uncomfortable in my life - the 'beds' are child sized D: and I got this nurse who was nice - but couldn't get the IV started - just kept digging

Oh, bb, I know the pain. Of course, when I went to the ER last summer for one, I had no one with me, and I got funny looks for hanging out in the bathroom kneeling in front of a toilet because I needed to puke. And then no one gave a shit when I puked in the trash can next to the front desk. /o\ Not to mention the nurses didn't care that I was two hours away from home, it was 4am and I didn't have a ride back to the dorm. (This was during my freshman orientation, BTW.) I barely made it to a cab outside, thank god I had some cash, and I was so drugged, I slept for twelve hours. The people in the dorm were freaking out because I slept so long. I was like, do you realize the shit I went through last night? Oh wait, you didn't give a shit. Gee thanks for caring now. They dragged me outside and I was like, "SUN. BRIGHT. MY RETINAS. THEY'RE MELTING."

I've had migraines since I was 11 (family curse from my mother's side!), and they've gotten worse as I've gotten older. I've probably tried every drug out there (well in the UK anyways), both to prevent them and to treat them when they do hit. I'm limited by the fact that I'm asthmatic, so can't take things like beta blockers which could help

Ohgod- I had that 24/7 headache for a year or more when my first was little. Those are awful too - they finally went away when I got my hormones more levelled out, but I still get these killers once in awhile- have since I was 6- yuck.

If you never have to go to the ER with one- be thankful - it is no place to be with a migraine! the lights and the noise! and I kept wanting to rip all the monitor wires off! Soooo uncomfortable. But it was better than dying at home :D

OH GOD!!! /o\ That sucks so so much darling, oh my god. I hope you feel better soon. My best friend gets migraines like that, and she works with me, so as her employer I usually just send her home before they get too bad for her to drive herself home. Awww BB that sucks SO MUCH. *pets hair*
