I bought two things.

The 10kg sack of potatoes I bought is Not the Best Sort. These potatoes take over two hours to bake. I wonder if they mash well. They take up a lot of room in the pantry. It's the right time of year to plant potatoes, but I don't want to grow the two-hour sort ( Read more... )

Dude! You should've asked me, I've got like, half the entire FF series - with double ups of the first five or so.

I haven't actually got round to reading them yet - I actually got them for inspiration for my post PhD project of developing a Bard's Tale RPG construction kit (with far more advanced features than the "real" BT Construction kit). It's so sad that I'm deadly serious...

Wo ho! I knew you were into ancient computers, but I didn't know you had those books!

Bard's Tale... looking it up... I never had an Apple II or C64 to play anything like that on, but it looks like the sort of thing I'd be into. Dungeon crawls! That's not sad at all--sounds really cool!

*(Tangential musings: I missed out on the C64 phenomenon entirely, in fact, except for playing the odd game at someone else's house. My family had a BBC computer; if anyone's heard of them, you would have.)

Why yes, BBC. I've got a few of those. Here's one that happens to be at my flat (I was just about to wrap it up for storage at my mum's too - lucky you got me in time). Plus also, the C64 I still use, and a selection of FF books... (so many more though - they are so easy to collect at book fairs)

That's the critter. Orange F keys and all! We had a whole box of tapes with it; most of the games seemed to have been made by a person rather than a company. My parents issued an ultimatum about the computer about six years ago: either I take it to my flat and store it, or it goes. In that flat I barely had room for a bed and barely had time to eat and sleep, so I wasn't going to wait ten minutes for a game to load. I was cross when they got rid of it... hope it went to someone who can appreciate it.

Who knows, maybe you've got the one I had!
