What's that word?
It'll keep me awake at night if I can't remember! The word means, literally, "like ploughing a field", and it's used to describe writing that goes from left to right on one line and from right to left on the next. It's garlic-planting month, and the other day I put fifty-six cloves in the ground, four times what I planted last year. Next morning I came out to water them and found several cloves lying on the surface. My cat loves playing with garlic because the skins rustle, and he likes to dig them up and chase them around. Pesto
Pesto. Wow, pesto. Amazing. Delicious. I could go on at some length about this.
Nights are getting down to four degrees, so my basil plant's days were numbered. I could have dug it up and brought it inside, but I've never made pesto and it sounded like fun. (Thanks, indefatigable42, for suggesting it.) I cut down the whole plant instead and chopped it up ( Read more... ) -
