It's garlic-planting month, and the other day I put fifty-six cloves in the ground, four times what I planted last year. Next morning I came out to water them and found several cloves lying on the surface. My cat loves playing with garlic because the skins rustle, and he likes to dig them up and chase them around. Oh that's awesome! I bet if I left garlic out too Jani would be all over it. It's quite impressive that he identifies the garlic sent as a fun toy and has the smarts to go searching for them in your garden. You'd probably have to either seal off that section of the garden or plant deeper in order to avoid them being dug up because your cat seems like he's on to you when it comes to a garlic hunt.

Fresh garlic out of the garden sounds wonderful.

More are going to grow than he can dig up. I've replanted them; he'll get tired of the game eventually!
