Well, my dorm bed used to cause me a lot of back pain, too. I just sleep on a plain ol' inflatable mattress now since I have no furniture in my room and that actually seems to help. Those AeroBeds are surprisingly really comfortable.

Brendan has good things to say about acupuncture, and you seem to enjoy getting poked with unnecessary needles.

1. Dr. Ben Sanders (Knight of the Round Table, Holder of blah blah blah...you remember him)
2. You could get one of those aweful mattress toppers, they last about a year...
3. Lie with your back flat on the floor (spine along the floor, tough to do, some arch is okay really) for at least twenty minutes. It's tough, but it should help your muscles and bones re-adjust..

Mine really sucks too. I have a memory foam mattress topper, and I also flip the mattress around every once and a while because other wise it gets a giant hole in the middle.
Also acupuncture would seriously help as well as something like yoga or pilates.
