[Guess who else is doing some shopping? Uhura is staring at a shelf of books, deep in thought, because what the heck do you get for your half-Vulcan boyfriend who doesn't celebrate Christmas and thinks gift-giving is illogical? She glances up as she notices the Slayer.]

[Oh. Hey! Books. She never even thought of that. Buffy quickly joins the Lieutenant in her deep thoughts.] It's getting to the Christmas crunch time and I don't have near enough gifts wrapped.

I don't think it helps much that our housemates are so difficult to shop for. [Her eye is caught by something, and she pulls it off the shelf. It's a book of traditional Vulcan poetry. A slightly pained look passes briefly across her face as she turns it over in her hands.]

I considered getting Bones a bottle of that bourbon stuff that he likes so much--but there was major reconsidering on that one. I don't want to be his enabler. [She runs her finger along a shelf, but has her eyes on Uhura.] What's that?

[And bang zoom, look who is here in this nice little item shop. He's actually here in the back looking a bit nostalgically at the old man (tm) staple of Christmastime. It's a miniature nativity scene. You know with the little felt dolls for baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the Three Kings, the Shepherds and the animals? The works. Like that.

[Quietly, Buffy approaches. She leans down, eying the nativity scene with a bit of a smile.] Growing up, I always thought these were just really brainy dollhouses. You know, for history geeks. But ours was kinda plasticy. This one's...kind of sweet.

[She readjusts her grip on a cloth bag and moves her smile over to the man himself.] How's the winter been treating you?

Not as well as winter in Miami had. [And now he looks on over at her, because he was still sparing his gaze on the nativity scene there. He does smile all the same] And yourself?

[She grabs the Mary from the display, turning the Virgin over in her hands.] Our captors seem pretty accommodating, this season. [Buffy finally holds Mary up, tilting her towards Caine--as if to say, look what they're willing to give us.]
