She has in her hands a most fierce and gruesome weapon--long and pronged, wickedly effective for roping in and dealing with rogue...leaves. Yes, today Buffy is devoting her time to raking the leaves on the lawn (a task she takes even into the early but dark evening). And while ( Read more... )

Maybe one with wider prongs. Or closer prongs. Or maybe even less prongs? I...I gotta admit, I'm not exactly a yardwork expert. But anything's gotta be better than this thing.

Maybe? You're probably just being impatient. Getting rid of leaves is a long and boring job no matter how you do it.

Not if you've got a leafblower. But I haven't found one of those yet.

[Count another person (+ ever-present firechicken) who has never seen autumn and even then why would you bother with something like...picking up leaves ide-]

Raking. [Buffy responds with a smile and a pause in her work.] But the leaves take over complete control and enslave us all.

[The joke flew several miles over Sapphire's head.]

What's the point of gatherin' up...leaves?

...You know, if you bag them once you've piled them, you wouldn't have to chase them again.

[Glancing up to see Derek--she smiles.]

Which you avoid, right?

[He'll stand up and make his way over.]

Got any bags? I can start stuffing them.

[ Yeah, have an equally bundled up best friend coming out to keep Buffy company. ]

Time to wage war on the leaves?

It's a menial job, but someone's gotta do it.

[Then, commenting on her equally bundledness:] Makes you miss California, doesn't it?

I can take a turn... if you want.

[ Yeah, a bundledupness that she's not too happy with, either. ] Very much. No snow except that one freak year in high school. And not much on the cold factor, either.

Well? Be prepared to get used to snow boots. It snows here. Like it was Canada or something.

[ And here is yet another villager who wanders near the vicinity of house seven and watches her wrestle with the rake and the leaves blowing across the yard. ]

Trouble?
