[It's a quick walk from C4 to the library - Giles is eager to get back to some kind of routine - but then he spots Buffy walking by and changes course]

Buffy?

[Buffy replies sheepishly -- aware that she has spent the better part of last week's descent into hell avoiding plenty of people she cares about -- but she does muster a smile.]

Giles! Hi...

[Giles looks equally sheepish, remembering that the last time they saw one another involved discussion of go-go boots and Dracula before...everything else happened. Still quite concerned, he walks up to join her.]

[ McCoy has been inside for the entire day and busying himself by subjecting Cupcake to various readings with his tricorder and attempting to re-adjust the equipment as he relaxes on the couch. He isn't too traumatized after last week's events to leave the house or anything; he's just not a fan of the dipping temperature. ]

[Eventually, Buffy comes to join him in the lounge. This is definitely one of those fuzzy slipper moments. She is balancing her honeyed teacoffee in her palms and decides to snuggle down on a chair opposite the couch.]

Is Cupcake sick?

[ He raises an eyebrow at the fuzzy slippers as his attention is drawn away from the tricorder, but says nothing. McCoy certainly isn't stupid enough to incur the wrath of a house full of females. ]

Nah. Just checking to see this thing is still working, is all.

[Since becoming corporeal again, Jack's been hard at work trying to beat the winter weather and cut a mast for his boat. Problematically the perfect tree for this mast was standing a good way away from the half-built craft, which is out by the western lake.

Long story short, he is doing some treecutting. Oh, and his monkey is there, too, being useless.]

[First day off and she's already at a loss for what to do with herself. It doesn't matter that her normal shift wouldn't have started yet. She has wandered over to the western edge and--huh. What's that noise? Seems a little boisterous for a woodpecker.

Buffy pauses nearby, her shopping backs held tight against her sides.]

[Does Jack even notice? No, he doesn't. He's trying to gauge the direction this tree is going to fall, at the moment. And to coax Jack the Monkey down from said tree.]

Look, you horrible thing--if you stay up there, you'll come crashing down. Is that really what you want?

[The brusque tone might suggest otherwise, but Jack's actually in a good mood today. It feels good to have the sheet off. And to be working on this project.]

[Yeah. She knows that voice. Against all better judgment, she investigates.]

[ Okay, Willow's being lazy. She's in her room currently, just hanging out. She might join Buffy at some point. For now, it's voice. ]

Hot springs? Now that sounds relaxing.

Do we have to play explorers or do people really know where they are?

I have it on good authority that there's some kind of teleportish device that'll take you right up there. Jury's still out on trusting it, though.

If you figure out a fast way to the hot springs, let me know. As for temporary hobbies...hmm...professional shopper? Crossword puzzles? Setting up a booth and offering advice for imaginary nickels?
