I'm about to head out to nosh at Montreal's most famous "smoked meat" establishment - Schwartz's. The ambiguously named
smoked meat, for the uninitiated, is a Montreal delicacy that's sorta-kinda (but not really) corned beef. I tried it at a lesser, tourist-y deli on Ste. Catherine the last time I was in town, and was profoundly underwhelmed.

Sounds like an interesting time in Montreal. I've always wanted to go. My dad loves it up there. Speaking of TV on the Radio, I was offered free tickets to their show last month, but stupid me pulled a couple of muscles at the gym that week. Which meant standing for long periods of time to be unbearable. Ugh!

Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that you missed the show. You're absolutely right, though - any ache or pain is compounded exponentially by standing around in a tightly packed venue. My knees were screaming at me the entire performance, which is yet another cross to bear for aging hipsters like myself.

Please don't find this creepy, but I was thinking about you and Janelle the other day when I was actually in the same state as the two of you. Granted, I was about 7 hours away in Lake Placid, but still, very cool.
