Thanks for letting me vent about you-know-who and if you ever prefer not talking about him - just let me know - LOL I just finished writing a not so friendly post about him in my journal. He really likes to add salt to my wounds :P

Dear Slenderstar,

I was browsing the Internet one day and came across your posting. As the date shows, it has been a while since you've posted last.
I just wanted to say how how things in life can change so easily. Sometimes all it requires is a simple change and then your life seems all that much healthier. I hope that your trip (the one mentioned in your posting) was memorable and full with wonderful experiences. It seems as though you have many friends who can back you up whenever needed. That is good to hear, I hope your relationship with John continues to blossom and all the best to you both!

The incessant thoughts about food, weight, calories etc, when one has an ed are indeed horrific. I had Anorexia badly as a young teen. When I started to recover from that I then developed Bulimia. Thank the powers that be I got a good handle on it by 20. During more stressful periods, I am definitely tempted to revert back to those old patterns. I'm fortunate enough though to not relapse as I've got better coping skills now than I had as a teen. I wish you all the best in fighting the addictions and breaking the cycle. *smile*

Anyway, congrats. on your first guide dog! How exciting. By now you must be really starting to feel like a well-bonded team! I am working my second guide, a German Shepherd. This summer we will celebrate our third anniversary and soon thereafter, his fifth birthday - how time flies!

As it stands, I'm having to retire my guide early, because she has arthritis; its really devestating for me, but I know we'll pull through it of course.
