Don't worry, you'll be super poor for awhile, and then you'll figure out the money management after eating ramen and not being able to afford heat for a couple of months. You'll need a second job to get an anywhere decent apartment(i.e. one not totally in the ghetto), as a studio will run you a minimum of 450(on the really low, really small end). Before you move out, try and figure out what your expenses actually are. Rent, utilities, gas, car insurance, food, credit cards. Then figure out if anything is left for fun. Rank your "fun" needs: Weed, crappy food snacks like chips, cigarettes, eating out, concerts etc. In my first budget, cigarettes came before food, they might for you too, but you'll still be pretty fucking hungry.
Aidan, I am a finance and accounting major. My job is in treasury cash control . If you need help keeping track of your money, just ask and I'll set something up for you.
