I hope you aren't a dumbass like me and stuff them full of raw vegetables. I don't know what effect that has on rats, but my gerbil went feet up chicken-loo.

... that also reminds me of the first time I gave it an inadvertent bath. It got out of its container while I was trying to wash her cage, and ended up falling into the sink. I tried not to ogle the cuteness of her attempt at swimming for too long, and when we finally got her out she was shivering..so cute. I miss her.

raw veggies are ok in moderation. otherwise it gives them runny shits.

...yeah what I did was far from moderated. I stuffed a half a pound of stock vegetables in the cage and left it for three days. Shame on me.
