In all honesty I'm thinking of doing the same. I have about thirty friends who mean the world to me, but in all honesty, I just don't have time to read all the people on my list and I miss the ones who are important.

Filters are your friend. :-) Just divide your friends list in half, and keep up with the first half, and read the 2nd half when you have time.
