The long project

Thank you! Your wonderful knitting machine post has prompted me to bother my mum some more about digging out her knitting machine that's hiding somewhere in the garden shed. I can remember being a fascinated 7 year old watching her use it. I can't wait to see what I can do.

The green yarn is lovely! And the hat colours are ace, too!

I've been knitting beige bear overalls for a 12-month-old baby (the one I'm going to have in the future), complete with a hood and ears. There was supposed to be a picture of a bear on the front of the overalls but I couldn't get it look good, so I think I'm just going to embroider bear-face outlines on the finished overalls. I love knitting/sewing baby clothes, they're so quick to make and so cute so cute.

When I questioned Alex about whether he still wanted the hat in those colours he replied with "Yes, the hat that will make my head look like it's on fire!"

I've yet to start knitting for my future baby, luckily my friend has a 4 month old boy who I think I'll be making some cute things for.

Thanks! Apart from the scarf taking ages to finish I really enjoyed making both.

Practice makes perfect! Sorry, it was annoying when someone told me that but it's true. You just have to watch what the stitch below was and get into the habit of counting in your head. I am constantly counting.
