He's not entirely sure how him and Yosuke are related, his father just pushed him into him one day and said "this is your cousin, go play." Junpei has zero reason to question that, because hey, a cousin that shares the same interests as you and is even in your dorm is pretty awesome. It's like a brother but without the constant annoyance of having to share things.
