Augh, I'm totally up for Da Vinci Code movie night. As well as a general discussion of the book.
Which I loved, purely because it's a well-written book, and not for any theories it may have "converted" me to. (Which it didn't. Convert me to any theories.) Really, I thought they were interesting to read, with what I thought was an interesting Alternate-History POV.
But yeah, that's just me. Some of my other Catholic friends aren't crazy about the book, and for good reason, I think. Because: a lot of people seriously can't see the difference between fact and fiction, and take the word of a FICTIONAL book as truth.
Now, if Dan Brown believes it's truth, that's a whole 'nother story...
I read "The Sound and the Fury" last semester in 20th Century Lit with Joanne. I loved it...stream of consciousness is definitley my thing. Anyway, "Absolam, Absolam" has Quentin (the guy) in it. I've wanted to read it but I haven't gotten time yet. I think I'll "The Da Vinci Code" first so that we can watch the movie. I've been told that it is a great book. Hmmm...
I got DaVinci Code a while back for a Christmas present, LOVED IT!! Dusty gave me a book just last week called, "The History Behind the Davinci Code", great read I'll have to bring it.
