She had promised to bring him flowers. Voile would have done it for anyone, really. As such, she didn't define it as special treatment. She didn't know what she defined it as aside from a breath of fresh air. Except hospitals weren't really fresh air. They were something, but not exactly... fresh air.

Flowers in hand, some of the pink and blue ones that Knuckles had brought from Angel Island, she showed herself in, gave a very polite nod to Nidoking and Notte. Then she closed the door after and smiled, "Professor. How are you feeling?"

Giovanni looked up from the blue-and-gold book he was reading from and grinned, "Voile! I am feeling pretty good, actually. Well, except for the IV in my arm and the fact I apparently have had more than a simple concussion, from that the Doc just said. Come have a seat near me, my dear!" He was feeling really good for some reason, though that reason was rather obvious to most people: he was on enough pain meds to knock out a Machoke.

Sure, she was a little nervous, but it didn't stop her from doing as he'd asked. If anything, Voile had a difficult time saying 'no' to people, mostly because if there was disappointment in return, she'd feel it and how.

"You look better than I had anticipated. I am relieved," she began as she pulled up a chair to sit beside his bed. "Take a look. Aren't these pretty?" She held up the flowers for him, "They're from Knuckles' home. I don't know if you know him or not, but we planted some in the greenhouse together."

"Aw, that's nice to hear, thanks. Oh my, those are quite pretty!" He carefully took one from the bouquet and placed it in her hair, "There, now it's even more lovely, as are you." He blinked at the name, "Oh yes, I believe I spoke to him over the network. Saw him this past weekend in the mountains, too. Nice guy, likes archaeology about as much as I do!"

Just a little bit. reservedempath April 26 2010, 06:19:54 UTC
She froze when she lifted a hand to her. A part of her wanted to withdraw hastily and retreat. Strange how she'd never been hurt by her trainer or anyone else like that. She never knew where the insecurity came from. Instead, she remained still and blinked.

"You're so charming," she complimented him sincerely. Then she nodded, "Knuckles is really wonderful. I'm sure he'll be taking your geology class as well if he hasn't already."

aw he didn't mean to scare her breaks_ground April 26 2010, 06:41:05 UTC
Somehow, her freezing got through the pain meds a little bit, because he seemed to become a bit flustered, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you..." He patted her hand, smiling. "I certainly hope he does. Very smart young man...ow." He winced as the knot on the back of his head started to throb. Looked like that meds were starting to wear off.

It's just too easy to do that. reservedempath April 26 2010, 06:44:10 UTC
Voile didn't say anything in reply to his apology, mostly because she was afraid she'd have to explain why and she really didn't want to. Even she had things she wanted to avoid. Thankfully for her, he was distracted by the aftermath of his concussion, which she actually didn't have much knowledge on. Humans had such a different way of doing things than Pokémon.

"Do you need me to go get someone for you?"

"Er, I'm not certain. Just...hurts a little right now, Ms. Voile, and I wasn't expecting it." He touched the back of his head where the bandage covered and frowned, "hurts right where the stitches are...itches, too. Gah..."

Notte flew onto the end of the bed, and looked at his 'daddy' in concern. "Don't worry, buddy. I'll be fine...oh, merde...maybe it would be a good idea, maybe they could give me some that won't messed with me so bad. But there's a button on the bed...if you could just press that? Little red one right there..." He put his head in both hands, and groaned. "Feels like a Tauros is charging right into it."

I'd like to say it would change with time, but no. I don't think it will. reservedempath April 26 2010, 07:08:54 UTC
"You're like a helpless child," she commented without considering the after effects of those words. Then she blinked at him, "Well, I mean... I'm not being condescending. It's just a little silly to hear a professor complain -- not that you don't have a right to."

Voile looked over to Notte and she reached out a hand and patted him gently on the head. "It makes me happy to see a Pokémon care for his trainer as much as you do. It thrills me, actually." Then she nodded to Giovanni, seeking out the button he was speaking of. With fingertips, she pressed it gently.

"I'm sure they'll be able to help you out in some way," she reassured him.

Pfft, never change Mako/Voile <3 breaks_ground April 26 2010, 09:05:33 UTC
He laughed a bit at her chiding, "I suppose it is. Normally I wouldn't, but..." he grinned sheepishly, "It...hurts quite a bit. Because the skin is so thin on the scalp, it hurts more when it is injured. Defense mechanism I suppose. The stitches don't help...Had no idea the blow actually broke the skin until today."

Notte cawwed happily, "Happy to hear it, Not-Gardevoir." He laughed at his joke for a bit, "He's my Daddy, of course I care for him!" Still he was happy to take the petting. Nidoking got a little jealous and walked over as well.

Shortly after she had pressed the button, the doctor had come around on his rounds and was able to give Giovanni something for the pain that didn't make him completely loopy. After a few minutes, he smiled, "Oh, that's better. At least I won't do something...embarrassing now." He grimaced, "I do apologize for my actions earlier, though. I don't know what I was thinking."

Why, thank you. :3 reservedempath April 26 2010, 09:11:32 UTC
"Well, if you don't rest, it'll only hurt more," she lectured him in good nature, just like a mother ought to have. Never mind that she wasn't a mother and thinking about it made her heart do the 'ba-dump, ba-dump' a few too many times.

She couldn't help grinning at Notte's response and the moment Nidoking wanted some attention to, she wasn't against wrapping her arms around him. On the outside view, she imagined she must have looked like a trainer or a coordinator of sorts by anyone who didn't know she was a Pokémon in disguise. She'd done well to hide that from Giovanni, too.

...Not that she was lying. More or less performing a social experiment. After the doctor had left, she tapped her chin methodically, "You'll need to be in good condition before we go on our trip." If he put it off for too long, he'd have to wait for her to come back before they could go, and that was assuming she came back. Who knew what was going to happen in Lilycove? She certainly didn't.

^_^ You're welcome, but it's true breaks_ground April 26 2010, 20:11:43 UTC
He couldn't help but color a little. Here was this young lady, maybe only a little under half his age, mothering on him. It was a bit odd, since his own mother had been practically nonexistant as an actual 'mother'. But it felt nice to have someone worry about him, even if she was young enough to be his daughter. "I suppose so, Ms. Voile. I don't plan on moving around much, no. Especially since they're wanting to make sure nothing complicates with the stitches and all. Head injuries are apparently very tricky to deal with. But thank you for worrying enough to point it out."

Nidoking growled happily when she hugged him, "Aw, thanks. Just don't tell my mate you're hugging me, she'll get jealous!"Giovanni observed the scene quietly for a bit. She certainly was good with Pokémon. Which brought up a question he was surprised he hadn't asked. "You seem pretty good with Pokémon, Miss. Do you have any, or have you simply lived around them your whole life ( ... )

As she was nestling into Nidoking, she heard Giovanni's inquiry and lifted an eyebrow at him. How did she answer that without giving the truth and lying? Voile didn't condone of falsehoods, unless it was for the very desperate measure of protecting someone. Even then, it wasn't a situation she wanted to get caught in the middle of, and she hoped she'd never be placed there, because she didn't know what she'd do ( ... )

"Heh, it shows, my dear. You have a definite knack for interacting with them. My father was a gym leader before I, so I grew up around them as well." He motioned to Nidoking, "Nidoking was my first Pokémon as a Nidoran. I have a Arcanine too, but he's with my family. Nidoqueen was shortly after, and Rhyhorn was...when I was a teenager I believe. I have several others, but most of them are with the family as well." He thought for a moment, "Oh, I never got to introduce you to the newest member of the team..." When there was a knock on the door, "Oh, come in!"

A man with dark hair and rimless glasses stepped in, wearing a white coat. "Mr. Moretti, how are you feeling?"

"Oh, better than I was. At least I am lucid now. Oh, this is Ms. Voile. Ms. Voile, Dr. Colbert. So, have the tests come in yet?"

He had a lot of Pokémon. Well, it wasn't like her trainer didn't have his share. He wasn't exactly one for the league in Hoenn or anything like that, but he did have a good eye for the contests, which was precisely how she'd gotten into them. Still, Giovanni certainly knew his way around them, didn't he? It made her all the more nervous that she was going to continue being in her human state. She couldn't hide it forever.

Right?

She looked over to the door when it opened and she nodded in kind, "Sir." Then she gave something of a half bow and stood aside patiently, more interested in hearing Giovanni's results than participating in the conversation.

"Well, first the good news. You're not going to die." Dr. Colbert said in front of an American flag.

"I believe we can agree that is a good thing...wait...the good news..." He took a deep breath, "Alright, what's the bad..."

"The bad news is that the concussion was a bit worse than we thought. It was caused by BEARS"

Giovanni tilted his head slightly, "How bad are we talking?"

Colbert looked over the papers on his clipboard, more out of habit then actually needing the information, "No major damage that's going to cause permanent harm, but you're going to have to stay for about a week or so more IN AMERICA."

"...."
