Who: Nabooru, you, you, you, some more you's, oh - maybe you, too
When: Oct. 14 - Evening ~ Late Night
What: It's a shindig. No, seriously. Nabs wanted everyone to get together for drinks. (And she's inconspicuously trying to force Byrne into being more sociable.) And by everyone, we do mean everyone of age.
Where: This... here tavern in FDC. No,

"Oh! You were right, this WAS a good idea!" he said, looking around. There was some food scent in the air and he could see large bowls of peanuts being passed up and down the bar, along with jars of pickles and pickled eggs. Oh boy!
He'd never drunk anything in his life before either and had no real intentions of it. Apparently people drank to feel happy. Well, he was already happy, and even happier still because of the green haired beauty attatched to his arm.

What kind of boy handled that with grace? She didn't like attention generally. She didn't like being in the spotlight. If she got that kind of attention - and it wasn't for a contest - it could be a bit overwhelming for her.
But Red wasn't her. And she wasn't Red. It was completely acceptable for them to be different.

He sounded a little sad on that note. So many wasted opportunities!
"But we got some new TMs from his wellwishers! And the usual items like full restores and stuff. It's really great! One day, maybe we could go see the people at the Indigo Plateu and I'll introduce you to some of them there! They'll be surprised to see me as a Human, I bet! Last time I was there I was a Snorlax only."
Truth be told? He would have been happy to stay at the Indigo Stadium as the reigning Champ's Pokemon forever. He loved it there. Not as much as he loved the Schoo now, but at the time? He'd been sad to leave.

"Indigo Plateau," she repeated. "That sounds familiar to me, but I'm not sure why. Maybe I've read about it." And of course she wouldn't remember. Contest Pokémon didn't really do the whole Pokémon League thing. And she certainly wasn't put together to do much in the way of offensive maneuvers. "If you think it would be all right for me to go, I don't see why I couldn't."

He gave her shoulders a gentle squeeze. "But because we made it there once, I'm able to go again any time without walking through Victory road. There are some places you can't go without being a league contestant and stuff, but we could still look around some of the other places and see some of the people."

"I see. For all of the battling types." She shook her head. "The world of battles isn't quite for me. I'm afraid I would be mildly useless. I suppose that's why I've always stayed in Lilycove." She eyed him, even reddened a little when he squeezed her shoulder. Maybe he'd just do that the entire night. She wouldn't have minded.
"But if you wanted to take me... I would go. With you. I mean, together."

Which wasn't too much. But as a battling Pokemon, you see a lot of things and you have the drive to know a lot of things about other species' strengths and weaknesses.
"But I'd love to take you and show you around up there! And other places in Kanto too! And Johto! Maybe next vacation time we get off of school, we could go? If you wanted?"

She wiggled her fingers at him, "My particular movesets are specific for contests only. I was trained to be a contest participant, not like you. So I suppose that would make my dainty behaviour only a little more appropriate. It's unbecoming for me to act a bit barbarically."
Not that Sonny was barbaric. Only that she felt she would be so if she wasn't careful about how she portrayed herself.

"I know. You told me. I bet the contest folks miss you - if we ever go visit Lilycove, you could show me around there! I'd like to see all that contest stuff for myself, even if I don't think I could ever enter."
Nope. He was a hard hitting special wall - able to absorb massive amounts of punishment and then deliver it right back with force to spare. He'd taken attacks that would have easily floored his team mates, and had then risen up to take the win with a well placed attack. If he was going to do anything for Red, it was fight.

Oh.
And her former trainer, which was mostly why she never visited Lilycove much nowadays. It hurt a little too much.
"I... guess we can... If you want," she said somewhat uncertainly.

Except it was.
"You don't need to be so concerned about it."
Not that he actually was.
"But we can go do it sometime if you'd like to."

The idea was exciting to him. Seeing her home town and the place where she worked to win her ribbons and stuch - it would be amazing to see those things first hand.

She paused momentarily, "But... I need you to understand something." Voile quieted and her expression grew serious. "I have memories also not fond of Lilycove. So I need you to be able to handle both sides. The good and the bad."

His arm was still over her shoulder, but his free hand sought hers out and gave it a little squeeze. "Well, you know, if you'd rather not do it, I'd understand... I wanna see it to get to know you better, I guess. But I don't want to make you uncomfortable!"

She leaned over, eyed him closely, and continued, "I need you to be able to accept all of me. The kind, compassionate person I am, and the foolish person I can sometimes be. I don't want you to think I'm perfect, because I'm not. I'm... less than perfect, and I wouldn't want to be perfect, but I cannot live up to any expectations that might require me to be so."
