wedding dress drama

Dec 20, 2006 20:46

So. I ordered my wedding dress back in October, and apparently it's finished now, and it shipped out last week, due to be delivered tomorrow. That was a problem, as BJ and I arrived back in NY today. So when I found out it had shipped, I called UPS and asked if I could have it re-routed to NY. I was told that I can't make an address change ( Read more... )

That's what we thought too, but according to UPS, since it's the Christmas season they're trying to hard to get packages delivered that they just drop them off. According to them, we should be *grateful* to the guy who signed for it because he was doing us a favor by accepting the package. Um, what? Yeah man, thanks for committing a federal offense by tampering with my mail. I really appreciate it. If you'd minded your own damn business, I wouldn't be losing my voice from yelling right now.

I need to go drink more.

Sucks to the 100th power.

The BBB handles disputes between consumers and businesses and has the legal clout to make complaints unhappy for the business; you can file a complaint via https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx

Thanks for the link. I'm still hoping that it'll just turn out that the guy was trying to be nice and decided to put the package in his apartment for safekeeping, but arrgh. What bothers me is that the other package he signed for was still in the hallway, but mine wasn't. I don't know what to make of that, but my gut reaction isn't to rejoice that he must be taking personal care of it. >_

That's just grossly and wretchedly awful. I hope everything eventually works out.

I think you should also make it clear to the gentleman that did sign for your package that you didn't appeciate him signing for the package as you had already made arrangements for it. That in the future would he please leave your mail alone and talk to your landlord of instituting a policy that tenants aren't allowed to sign for another tenants package without excplicit written permision.

UPS sucks!

If it turns out that he just left the package by the mailboxes and now it's gone, he damn well better give me money to pay for my dress.

That's odd. I got my pump on Monday, someone HAD to sign for it but there wasn't anyone here, so he back later in the evening. He didn't try the neighbors or anything, he just came back later.

According to them, because I live in an apartment building they just give all packages to anyone who's there to sign for them. I guess they figure if we live in the same building then we must all be friends. Yeah, that's perfectly logical. >_<
