what is truth?

What is truth? Is it a word even definable? Truth is summoned up in two forms, the human truth, and definite truth. Definite truth consists of undeniable facts that cannot be negotiated and have been proven innumerable times. Human truth is whatever allows a person to survive from one day to the next. It is not necessarily what exists but what is ( Read more... )

Truth is not necessarily anything proven to be a certain way or simply proven to be. Truth is just something that is, something that exists, even if it never has or never will be proven. Truth could lie in the fact that one tree is taller than another, or in the fact that they will both someday be cut down to be replaced with a parking lot, or it could lie in the fact that God exists or doesn't. Though some things may be more clear or obvious than others, it doesn't make them any more true. A room filled with the most brilliant mids on the planet could spend a decade weighing the evidence and determining whether they see proof of some kind of higher power, but no matter what, there would only be one true answer, and there's really no reason to think that they would get any closer to that answer than a 6 year old boy at his mother's funeral. Truth does not exist in degrees. Something is either true, or it is not, there is no in between. While it is often very difficult or even impossible to determine whether something is true or ( ... )

truth is able to be evaluated at a paricular moment in time, since time cannot repeat itself what exists at one point in time will stay in that one point in time, considor truth to be a snapshot of moments, whatever is in the picture does not change so for that instant everything that was there was true because truth is the discovery of what is true and always will be true despite its outside influences

you need to get a copyright on your entries meri, frankly because you need to write a book on all these amazingly well written things you put in your lj.
they are very insightful, and maybe if people took them to heart, the world would be a better place! so yea, copyright, and write a book.
peace.

upon asking many ppl (3 ppl) what their version of the truth was i was given three very different responses which leads to one overwhelming conclusion, there is no defined answer for the truth, it like many other fundamental concepts of philosophy is what it is nothing more and nothing less; while it has always been the human goal to answer the underlying questions of our existence the sooner we accept that the answer is meant to exist and be accepted with no challange the sooner we will understand the answer for its true meaning but we will never ever be able to relay that answer to someone else because for them it will exist on a different reality which basically drives back to the basic theory of life, it is a circle and its occurances will repeat themselves despite human desire to disrupt them

meri. you are an amazing person. and your writing is incredible. never change. become an author. and write about what you have learned in life. because somehow, you manage to put everything down on paper. everything that is important in life. and these are aspects that a lot of our word is missing.
