YAY! Good for you! Do you have a city yet? That can take a while, depending on the way contracts go. Aomori is so beautiful, though, that I'm sure you'll love wherever you get placed. When are you set to come over? If there's any overlap between when you come over and when I leave, I'd love to meet you. And maybe dump a few of my things on you.

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions. I'm so happy for you!

Not sure exactly when I'll be arriving but it'll be a few days before April 1st unless the visa process takes longer. I'm thinking super late March (28th? Or a bit later). I have a bad feeling you won't BE THERE BY THEN. UGH. Somehow I want your dumpage! Do they have PODS over there? (Storage for items? I'd pay for the storage as long as it wouldn't be a super long time between you leaving and me arriving)

I'll be in Aomori City. Have you ever been there? WHAT'S IT LIKE... I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!

Aomori-shi itself? Hey, that's great! Yes, I've been there. I attended the Nebuta Festival there this summer, and boy, are you lucky to be there for that--even though the place will be choked with tourists for a few days--as it's one of the most famous summer festivals in Japan. It's a fairly big city, which means you'll have access to good shopping and import stores. Also, they just linked up to the shinkansen line, which makes travel easier. You can even catch a ferry, I believe, to Hokkaido, for which I envy you greatly. Frankly, I think you hit the jackpot.

I'll see what I can do about getting a few of my things to you. I've got a lot of kitchen stuff that'd come in handy, I'm sure. If I can't, though, just hit up the local thrift shop. Some of my best stuff comes from DokiDoki. Also, departing ALTs often leave things at the local Board of Education. I got a lot of lesson-planning stuff from a JET named Jackie.

*Squee!* You're going to have so much fun!
