The more and more I hear friends' birth stories, the more and more I think, "Oh HELL no. That's HORRIFYING." And then I feel slightly conflicted, since if every woman felt that way the human race would die out. What the hell, God? I'm blessed in so many ways and I think I might someday still want children (although I'm now at this point in my life ( Read more... )

I'm still ambivalent about spawn, too. Until then, I recommend a Mirena IUD - the whole idea skeeved me out initially, but I've had one now for over two years and have had no periods and no PMS. It's pretty much the best invention ever :)

I'm hesitant about an IUD though; the idea of changing my hormone levels kind of weirds me out.

I was too at first, but my doc was concerned about my risk of stroke on the Pill. Apparently the Mirena messes with your hormones less (or at least differently) than the Pill anyway. I have a really great PCP and I knew she wouldn't recommend anything bad for me. And it has been phenomenal :) good luck either way!
