i am in whitby right now at my aunt and uncle's spending one last night with my mom before she goes back to calgary. i am going with her to the airport tomorrow morning... at 4am. oh well, i'm glad we're visiting before she leaves because i just got back from new york and this is the only way for me to see her

so i read one word of this post (i'm totes ADD), which was Barcade. and was like, OMG, Barcade, I know that place! and then remembered (and then read) that it is so much more exciting in theory than in reality.

in other (not so other) news, i have activated an old school NES in my apartment. and if that's not enticing enough, marika is only living here for another 2 months, so one day you should visit.

I have been reading about the waterfalls. I am not sure what to think of them.

I worry about academics and their love of community organizations. I think these organizations depend on a lot of unpaid work of women and we need to be thinking about what kind of help people need to do unpaid community work. Some of the most revolutionary organizations (Black Panthers, AIM) realized that they needed to support the community in order to organize ourselves.
