is this a lesson?

I have to say this at complete random but people who spell stationery (as in paper) as stationary (which means not moving, standing, fixed and so forth) make me really wonder about education in America. Along with this is that certain people actually believe that alot is one word, well for the record it is not - nor has it ever been. In fact it is ( Read more... )

Nope, I completely agree with you. Lazy grammar is one of those things that gets to me, too. [IE: your vs. you're, uggh.] It's just... I don't know, maybe I'm a big word nerd or something but english is one of those things you can look up when you're confused, yeah? There are set rules for these little things and I thought we all learned them in second grade. No excuses! Read a book, internet-population.

[but, uh, I also couldn't math-anything my way out of a paper bag if it involved something more difficult than the up-to-12-times-tables, so. Damn brains.]

But really, I think people should know 'a lot', 'definitely' (that one bugs the crap out of me & I can't even remember the way it's constantly screwed up), 'your' vs. 'you're', 'its' vs. 'it's', and it really goes on and on ( ... )

Bad grammar is my pet peeve. That's why I couldn't stand talking to people on MSN.
