Smooth jazz is the most unintelligent commercial garbage the genre of jazz (if you can even give it enough credit to call it real jazz) has to offer. End of story.

Come on guys. Go listen to real music.
Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Jaco Pastorious.. Music that's good for you. NOT KENNY G.

You obviously have no appreciation what-so-ever for this music genre, so why are you even in this club?

It's easy to listen to smooth jazz when you just want to relax...listening to big band jazz for me isn't relaxing.

While the artists you mentioned have produced good music, it seems that people like you always stereotype smooth jazz into just being "Kenny G." Grow up and stop being so ignorant to the thousands of artists in the smooth jazz community.

There's quality autophysiopsychic music that's more mellow and relaxing than smooth jazz, but still good for you, and good for the progression of musical understanding.

I do listen to your 'real' music. I also like the smooth variety. Except I don't like Kenny G so I think we're okay there.

Also I was not aware this comm was for non-fans to tell us we're dumb?

Hey loser, welcome to the community.

Quick question for you...

I thought music was supposed to be about listening to stuff that you like to hear, not obeying what elitists tell you is music that is ``good for you''?

Guess a brainwashee like yourself wouldn't have the answer to that one.

Oh well, nevermind.

There's certainly mellow music out there that's healthy for your mind, body, and soul. What falls into the genre of smooth jazz is not. It simply encourages its listeners to be submissive, though listeners of smooth jazz usually aren't aware enough of music to realize how this happens.

And, music is not about listening to stuff you like to hear. Music is about making art through sound. There's a huge difference.
Crack is something people like to do but "elitists" who are concious of what may not be good know you shouldn't do it. Understand?

Smooth jazz is not garbage... not in the right hands at least. When you've listened to Cycles by the icelandic drummer Einar Scheving you'll change your mind about smooth jazz.
