Kitty!

Today I got a kitty!  My student's cousin's cat had kittens, and I got one of them.  I think it's a girl, although I'm no expert at sexing kittens so I could very well be wrong (I'll find out for sure soon enough when I take her to the vet).

Ooh, I would have said Carly even if it wasn't short for Carleton. Carly's a good cat name.

HEE! Mew! It's perfect! It'd sound like she's walking around saying her name all day. Like "Anyong." Except not like that at all.

I'm thinking that with those eyes, "Spooky" might not be a bad idea either.

Her eyes don't actually look like that. They're not blue. I'm not sure why the black came out bright blue in the pictures, but I guess it's probably flash-related.

I think it's pretty much between Spooky and Squirrel at this point. Squirrel seems to suit her a little better, but is a little hard to say and doesn't lend itself to any nicknames that I can come up with (I usually take the vowel sound and just run with it--my old cat was named Fudge and I called her Bubsy, Bubs, Bubbers, etc.). I think if I name her Spooky I might call her Boo.
